Are you fed up of getting ripped off by bumholes like British Gas making you ring ridonculously expensive phone lines all the time??????
So are Narstie, me and Littles!
Shit, who ISN‘T, apart from rich folks, and who gives a crap what they think anyway?
Poor > Rich.
Fact.
Anyway. All those 08 whatever numbers your broadband supplier and your electric company and the council or whatever make your ring, they cake up like Kippling off of those things, leaving YOU with a crazy phone bill and not enough money to go to the cinema. Well screw that for a game of Twister!
My Ma just put me onto this excellent website called Say No To 0870 Dot Com. Turns out, all those people giving you 08 whatever numbers, they got regular landlines too. And this website has those numbers! So next time Virgin start throttling your broadband, don’t give them 25p a minute to sit on hold for half an hour waiting for them to lie and say there’s no problem! Go to Say No To 0870 Dot Com! Stick it to the man!
These pictures, by the way, are from that Karaoke thing lats week, I just got sent them, I think they are beautiful. Look how happy Pix is!
Speaking of Pix, his mixtape is nearly done and its ACE on STILTS.
Magnum P.I and Littles were round yesterday to lace barage for the Click Clack Blam remix. Pix took some sneaky footage. I thought he was looking at photos you know. Sneak Pix!
Word up my people equals. We shot a video for Click Clack Blam last night. It was super dope. We have developed a revolutionary new technique, I think. You’ll see when I’ve edited it. Editing is gonna be a bitch. The footage looks awesome though, I am hyped. Pizza Girl took a few photos to check light contrast, peep game.
Oh, I just got told a track I did with an outfit called Temposhark is on the cover of the new XLR8R magazine, so you should check that out. Someone send me a copy! I refuse to leave the house!
OK. Check out Little Man’s new video for the excellent Unsent Letter, wot we recorded round Don Studios III at the end of 07. It is ace!
Hey yo! Doncast 6 - Welcome To Don Studios IV is up now! I rediscovered CDs during my move, so expect LOADS OF ACE SONGS! Jack Nimble and Marvin (formerly The Martian)’s remix of Thieving! A preview of the next “single” from Thieving, Giro! Whoooo! DONCAST 6iTunes people should go here. It takes a whee while to refresh itself so it might not be visible there yet-AH! Other people, if you wish to subscribe to the podcast, the feed is here-AH!. Enjoy! So, Ali and I went up to Hendon in North London (which is gross) on the weekend to help Littles with his new video. Shizzio and Narstie showed too, alongside a bunch of other cats. It was dope. I met Littles’ dad, he looks, like, 12. Crazy.
As promised! A new podcast for you today. Featuring whole bunch of new music including tracks from Thieving, along with special guests Lethal Bizzle, Narstie, Little Man (welcome back bra!), and Wade Crescent, who chat and rap. Not all of them do both, actually, but you’ll see. DONCAST 4iTunes people should go here. If it isn’t working let me know, I can’t tell cos I haven’t got iTunes you see. Other people, if you wish to subscribe to the podcast, the feed is here.
Both are 196 kbps MP3s. Get the whole mixtape as tack separated CDQ MP3s here.
In other news, I have been getting a lot of myspace messages from deekheads trying to sell me “extra plays” - if you hadn’t noticed, MySpace is all about how many “friends” and “plays” you have. People actually pay companies to send rotten little spam bots about the place adding people for them, and refreshing their page so they look mad popular. I’ve been meaning to investigate this for a while, but, happily, Sage Francis has done it for me. Peep game. (Thanks to Mark E for the link).
PS - While your messages of concern regarding the last post are appreciated (and there have been MANY!), please don’t think for a second I am on any kind of “self harm” bullshit. I am very happy right now, and am merely a foolish, impulsive goon who doesn’t always think things through. Peace!
Sometimes I kinda wish I had DJ Khaled following me around shouting. Sometimes I think that might suck a bit. HAHA!
Anyway. Last night was ace. Big up The Crimea, Katy Karr, everyone who came down (word up Mary’s parents!), and my awesome band, especially James, as it was his first gig (and first time on a stage in three years). I had a wicked time. Especially ace was our cover of Fairytale Of New York, and doing Loop A Loop with The Crimea, that sounded ace.
I have decided - I definitely need a bassist and a drummer. Any ideas?
Anyway. In other news, speedy people can download a free copy of Little Man’s new mixtape here - it’s out on CD in January. Cop preview tracks here. If you ain’t aware, we recorded most of this mixtape here at Don Studios. And it is Great. So there.
First: We’re playing a free show at Brick Lane’s Vibe Bar in London tonight. Me, Mary, BJ, Narstie, Little Man. Come on down!
So, last night Narst, Littles and me drove into town to check Logan’s Kiss FM show - Narst did an interview and spat some choice bars. Littles and me dropped a little bit on it - would have done more, but things didn’t pan out like that anyway.
Still, we had fun, and were in a good mood when we got in the car and headed back to Don Studios.
Until, that is, the Police did some profiling and stopped us. They kept us there for just under an hour - Littles stood outside in the pouring rain the whole time - while they made jokes about “the fattest man in the world and the bearded lady”, trying as hard as they could to get some kind of a reaction so they could cart us back to their pig pen and stick us in a box.
No chance! We were innocent men like Billy Joel, so eventually they let us get on our way. By which time the car’s fan had run Little’s car battery down. Push starting didn’t work, so we had to try and flag down some help. Unsurprisingly, folks were reticent to stop, but eventually someone did.
