It is. Akira The Don The Mixtape Vol. 1 can be listened to in the music section. Those of you with 56k connections (like me) won’t have too graet a time with it mind. Actually, saying that, mine just started flowing, so you never know. But you broadband swine are sorted.

PLUS! The first batch of ACTUAL WORKING MIXTAPES went out this morning. So look out for them in your mailboxes, kids.

As ever, I am a mass of conflicting emotions, following a freak round of occurrences and phonecalls… I just interviewed Jazzy Jeff, who is a lovely man, and felt very positive, then I got a phonecall which gave the impression that my assumed source for the flight costs for this US/Japan thing might not have been such a safe bet. This fills me with sadness, for I am now faced with the task of finding £900 or thereabouts in a matter of days, and I know not how I will. Ebay takes a week, and all my records are shit, and the good ones wont fetch any money because they are in Bad Nick. Plus the council are breathing down my neck like rapists for last year’s tax. I wonder what council tax rates are like in Normandy.

Perhaps there are a lot of pennies behind my sofa.

Or perhaps not. But I did learn something today - if you want to burn audio CDs, don’t buy ones that say “Audio” on them. They don’t work. If you’re rocking a PC you need CD-R of equivalent drive speed to your shit for it to be smooth and not a god-awful noise. I found this out when, after spending the weekend burning off stacks of plastic with which to entertain all you lot, I tested one, and it was horrible. You could sort of hear the music, beneath a torrent of squall, but it was not worth the pain. I tested another, and, same story. I fact, the whole lot were ruin-ed. I realise a number of people must have similarly deficient Akira The Don CDs, and for that I can but offer my deepest sympathy. Mail me and I’ll see how I can help.

Now, however, shit is dandy, and the PC is pumping our lush sounding discs of dope. In the morning, the huge number of you who mailed for mixtapes will be sent mixtapes. And that is very exciting.

Shit, I am a motherfucking genius. I picked up some of this fruit juice from one of the numerous identikit Turkish 24 hour mini-marts round my way, on offer, two for a pound (see right). Let it chill for a few hours in the fridge and the Dogg and I sampled a glass each. I chucked half of mine, it was fucking rough, pissblood gloop.It was like drinking medicine, and after hours in my three star fridge, the shit was warm.

We were like, damn, these fucking Turks man, why the fuck do they drink this shit? It is not at all refreshing. Figured we’d ask our Turkish br’ers HeTurnAll or Erol, they might now.

Anyway, there it has sat for a few days, and now I have but water in the place, so I figure I’ll put water in some and see how that works. Turns out fucking lovely. I am off to buy more. Two for a pound is a fucking bargain.

I breakfasted on bacon today, and managed to be out and about before noon, despite being up until breakfast time watching Woody Allen and what have you.In the afternoon I painted and caned and recorded, and now I am home with a box of Ritz crackers and a big list of things to do. A few lists actually. They are confusing me a little. I like the one on my Europa Gem best, it says,

Wow, 502 of you have been here this afternoon. That’s hot. Thanks for the nice emails people, it makes an old man smile inside his beard. I have been bombarded with mixtape requests also, so all afternoon my other machine has been grunting away in the corner shitting them out. Jeres dropped by earlier with the sleeves (I left them in the office photocopier), so we are all set to bomb your mailboxes.

I am reviewing The Pixies DVD right now, it is hot. They sound like The Smiths live.

. Manage and rock a big green bus at Homelands.
. Organise June tour. Wonder why everything is always so last minute.

Hello. This is my website. Today there is very little on it,. But there will be some more. A mixtape, for starters, which you’ll be able to stream, and it’s got me and the Wu on it amongst other things. Since I made it myself it is very basic. But there will be nice pictures all over it.
