Loved that show. The first half of season two wasn’t great (I think RDM leaving to do Battlestar Galactica was a big loss), but it picks up a lot towards the end.

I watched the second season last year, I was surprised how much they got wrapped up before the ending.

…my guess is HBO were panicked by the lawsuit (’show cancelled!’ leaked May 2005, lawsuit filed June 5 2005, pure coincidence?), and despite the fact that the case was dismissed with prejudice (ie cannot be re-presented) (as was HBO’s counter-claim), perhaps they were unwilling to plough further funds into what was one of the most expensive TV series recently produced. Or they just bottled it. Or they really thought their man had nicked it!

Personally, i think Bergquist (who claims to have written it first) has a more convincing, better supported argument than Kauf. I fail to find motive in Bergquist’s actions, other than those he states, and Kauf’s defence merely consists of the legal equivalent of point his finger at Bergquist and screeching, ‘naaaaaah, you did it fuuuuuuurst! waaaaaah!’ A typical bully’s tactic, smack’em round the face, then run off and complain he tried to beat you up! So….:

FAIL: Kauf, for blatantly plagiarising Berguist, you cunt.
FAIL: Bergquist, for not just letting someone else make his fucking show for him, considering it was being done so well! He was never gonna do it, or write it, or anything, so why did he have to defecate on the dinner table like that? Ego, prehaps? You cunt.
FAIL: HBO for not having secret HBO ninja assassin clan to deal with this kinda thing properly. Ninja assassins are the answer to everything. More ninjas mean less copyright theft, that’s a fact!
