Wow! What fun we had last night in rainy old London Town, so much fun it felt like Christmas, kind of.

Anyway, check out this handsome fellow! BOTH these handsome fellows! Look how they swoon, look at the gloves, look at the picking up of the microphone stand, look at the awesome lyrics being sung by The King of Awesome. Just look. And listen. And pray thanks to the lord that we live in a world where, late at night (too late for some), people, human kind, still gather, drink and celebrate the truth and have fun.

Aw, thanks baby! My sweet ladygirl wrote that while I was in the shower, and it sits as fitting an intro as any I might have penned, so it can stay. Last night was indeed a fine and wonderful time, thanks to our gracious, genial and genius host Mr Chilly Gonzales, and my fellow Guest Entertainist, heroine of hula hoops Marawa The Amazing, along with my friends, old and new, who were there and weren’t the noisy people at the bar left over from the last show (“the fetid funk of a thousand years,” I think he said).

Chilly was pretty much the best I have ever seen him, performing his full range, including seven minutes of his autobiographical opera. There are two nights left of his residency, so if you haven’t been yet, do not miss your chance, and demand he does the opera when you’re there.

As for me, I was called onstage at the end of the show, and Chilly and I traded bars over the steady click of a metronome, before performing what would have been the definitive version of Thanks For All The AIDS, had I not fudged a line in the middle of the first verse. STILL! It was VERY CLOSE to definitive, as you can see for yourself, above.

I also got to carry a massive stack of hula hoops and drop them.

YEAH!

So, yeah. Thank you, my friends, and thank you Chilly Gonzales.
