ATD19: The Steven Wells Mixtape

Notes:
ATD19 is a mixtape for Steven Wells, the Greatest To Ever Do It, who died earlier this year. It is mostly comprised of music he liked – apart from the first song, which he might not have liked at all, although he probably would have secretly, as it is about him. The first version of the mixtape was created at the request of Steven’s friend and collaborator David Quantick, and played at a party celebrating Swells’ life held in London a few weeks ago. This version features some extra music, including the aforementioned song about Swells, most of which I wrote today, although I’ve had parts of it swimming around my brain for a while now. James Harrison played guitar on that song, and Joey2tits played bass.
I hope you enjoy it. It was fun to make. I especially enjoyed getting to listen to Steven’s poetry and romance fiction. That, and singing “TITS OUT TEENAGE TERROR TOTTY!” over and over at the top of my lungs for about half an hour.
Cheers Swells!

it looks nice, looking forward to giving this a listen and honouring the man…
he picked the short straw going at roughly the same time as Michael Jackson, Swells deserved his own NME tribute issue

You little beauty.
Quite surprised that NME didn’t have a Swells tribute issue. I might even have bought a copy for the first time this decade if they had.
Fuck you, the NME.

[...] warmed my heart, and make no mistake. Akira the Don does a Steven Wells mixtape in honour of the sadly-departed awesome-shouty journalist. Which is splendid stuff, even without the Akira The Don-written opening track “Steven Wells [...]

Can you put up an MP3 for the Gunz Yo remix you made for this mixtape?
I love it, and I wish I could find the acapella for it too, I got a couple ideas for it.
