The only time I ever met Swells was when we went to see Andrew WK at ULU, Adam. I remember being somewhat nervous as I loved his writing when I was a teenager (his eviscerations of Bis and Sonic Youth were particular favourites) but he was a lovely fellow.

I think I disagreed with everything Swells ever had to say about music.

Green Day = shit
Insane Clown Posse = shit

I also used to buy the NME every week and turn to whatever he wrote first, just so I could find out how much I disagreed with him this week.
