Saigon Lost. Joe Budden Won. That’s It.
Budden dropping a Saigon diss track a few weeks after saying he wasn’t beefing with anybody seemed to me to be a bit weak. Even if Sai did start it, by running around the place saying he was gonna be Joey up for using his name in a punchline. But hearing Joey’s track, then Saigon’s response, it is safe to say
JOEY WON.
Joey’s track made valid points about schizophrenic foux-conscious toughboy Saigon, whereas all Saigon could think to do was say “I’m a knock Joey out”, then call Joey gay. The call Joey’s son gay. Which is pathetic. And proves Joey’s points. So Joey wins, and Saigon looks like a great big DOUCHE. Sorry Sai. You lost.

“How your girl’s butt got a bigger buzz than you?” Saigon won.
Joe Budden’s diss was lame. Good Music? Common Sense? Corny. Joey was talking about people’s kids first. Anybody who followed Saigon from ‘01 knows he’s not a contradiction, he’s quite down the line with his shit. Plus he’s effortlessly the better rapper.

Akira The Don reply on January 18th, 2009 7:01 pm:
Usually I’d agree, but Sai’s reply was weak. Its not like Joe hasn’t said that stuff about his girl’s celebrated donk himself anyway. And at least dude got the nuts to celebrate his girl in public, rather than the usual “we don’t love them hoes” with a wifey on the DL nonsense. And Joe’s comments about Sai’s “love for the kids” were valid, in the context. Below the belt, sure, but with Sai running around on some “save the children/save the bitches” ish while quite consistently reinforcing that negativity. All Saigon had was “you’re gay, you’re son’s gay, you had one mainstream chart hit.”
I still stand my my 02 review of Joe’s debut LP though. It was shit.
